I am often approached by small business owners who want to build up their business and generate new business and my response is simple, “To build a better business, one needs to get the word out via a Newsletter”. And this simply means that you need to create either an online, on paper, or both types of Newsletters to educate the public about the business. Not only does this Newsletter deliver your specific business news, but also creative efforts to show your clients and customers that you care, want to become a part of their lives, and want to share some of your insight and expertise with them.
Four business components that must be included in every Newsletter are: “Who, What, Why, and Where”. By defining the “Who”, you will designate your business name, title, and exactly who you are. Whereas the “What” will define exactly what your newsletter will be about, but also what services or products you carry. With defining the “Why”, you will give your future customers a reason to expect the newsletter every month or every week and will deliver content that will drive future customers back to you as you become a household name in that neighborhood. Defining the “Where” is a two step method. You will designate where you are located and then you will designate where and how your business can and will affect them.
You want your customer to feel appreciated and wanted. In turn they will expect a newsletter with information and ideas that will help them in their daily and weekly routines. For example if you are selling real estate, a newsletter will show your customers that their home is in their farm area and that they pay close attention to the homes in their farm area. By giving these homeowners a piece of your undivided time, you bring the customers back because they trust you and your insights.
Building a Better Business is a lot easier when you spread the word of what you and your company can do for others. Share your joys, ideas, and generate new ones by reaching a customer base by creating a topic Newsletter!
